MARCH 17, 2020 UPDATE
Over the course of the last few weeks, our leadership team has been closely monitoring and reviewing the recommendations of various national, state, and local government and health officials in regard to COVID-19 (Coronavirus). In response, we have already taken additional precautionary measures to ensure the cleanliness and safety of our facility and processes to the best of our ability.
NO WEEKEND GATHERINGS
In light of how the situation continues to unfold and after extensive prayer, discussion, and consideration, we have chosen to move our services exclusively online for at least the next two Sundays, March 22 and 29. All other scheduled events and gatherings are also currently canceled through April 1, including Celebrating Recovery and Elevate Student Ministries.
While no official cases of COVID-19 are documented in West Virginia at the time of this communication, acting in coordination with local health officials and on the advice of our governor’s recommendation to limit group gatherings of our congregational size, we are choosing to be proactively preventative in a wholistic effort to help mitigate the potential personal and systemic effects of the spread of this virus in our community. #flattenthecurve
We would prefer to be meeting in person as our Sunday gatherings as a church family are a highlight of many of our weeks! We will continue to seek creative opportunities for us to gather and scatter in daily mission purposefully. Despite the uncertainty of the moment, I am certain that our God is ultimately in control and watching over us (Psalm 37:25) and that He does not give us a spirit of fear, but of power and love and self-control (2 Timothy 1:7).
With an eye towards the moment and the opportunities it brings each of us to live intentionally loving God and our neighbors, I want to challenge you towards two things:
1. Seek hope, not fear
2. Seek mission, not isolation
We will continue to communicate plans moving forward as the nature of the situation remains fluid and ongoing.
